Robert Johnson is President of Washington Media Group. Mr. Johnson brings 36 years of experience in media relations, public affairs and management to his assignment. Serving as a Bush Administration appointee, he handled public affairs for the Transportation Security Administration following the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001; managed media relations as the head of public affairs under Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta, and worked as Chief of Staff to Transportation Secretary Mary E. Peters.
Johnson previously directed public affairs for former Arizona Governors Fife Symington and Jane Hull, and media relations for former Arizona congressmen Jim Kolbe and Jon Kyl. He also logged time as a broadcast journalist and wire service reporter in several West Coast markets, and has private sector experience leading public relations and public affairs efforts in three Arizona firms.
